Passages and cruising evidence

Voyages

What can be placed with confidence, what is reconstructed from dated logs, and where the route remains incomplete.

Grimson-era Atlantic range

Schematic research map of Meander's Grimson-era Atlantic range
Documented range plus clearly labelled contextual sailing clues. Schematic, not a navigational chart.

1993 Atlantic crossing

Meander's first documented Atlantic crossing and Bob Grimson's third Atlantic crossing in a boat he had built himself.

Venezuela to Nova Scotia

Bob's biography describes the yacht's broadest documented cruising range.

Bahamas

The Bahamas were a recurring cruising area. An independent log places Meander at Rock Sound, Eleuthera on 8 April 2008 and records an earlier Long Island encounter.

Geographic clues

Bob's painting notes mention Chesapeake Bay, Delaware Bay and Mahone Bay. These remain clues rather than automatically confirmed Meander ports.

2009 west-to-east Atlantic

Chris Phillips made a two-handed passage aboard Meander and later received the RNSA Tim Sex Trophy. Alec Townley is identified in later material, but the exact ports and dates remain an open research target.
